New 2010 Mac Book Air – Flash Sotrage out of SSD

Posted in Technology, November 2nd, 2010 | Comment »

Today I looked at the new MacBook Air that was unvield in October 27, 2010. Wow – Apple still finds way how to surprise their customers. As you know, the ancestor was using already flash memory technology that was enclosed into form of normal 2.5’ size HDD that is known as SSD – solid state drive. Externally SSD looks as HDD but inside using solid state memory instead of rotating parts. Using Flash Memory.

WordPress 3.0 “Thelonious”

Posted in wordpress, June 18th, 2010 | Comment »

Well… yesterday on June 17, 2010 WordPress released 3.0 final version titled “Thelonious” (not sure about the title meaning).

Main 3.0 feature that I was so much waiting for was supporting custom types. To understand is good to list built in types. It is (and was probably all the time) post, page and attachment. Those who familiar with WordPress database structure knows that field “type” was all the time here and both posts and pages were stored in the same database table. So letting define custom type was very natural move. I surprised why it took so long to admit the lack of this freedom.

Posted in wordpress, December 19th, 2008 | Comment »

After was released 2.7RC1 build at December 1st, I wasn’t hurry to take it. WordPress wasn’t strongly pushing It as well. But soon were released 2.7RC2 and the final stabile 2.7 called “Coltrane”. Posted in wordpress, December 9th, 2008 | Comment »

After I upgraded to the last 2.6 WordPress version the time came to make all the rest necessary tweaks to finalise the setup. This should scope the following tasks:

  1. New better looking theme then the default one.
  2. SEO related stuff like adding rel=nofollow to links for categories, tags, comments and “read more” links – to all content that is restricted to index by robots.txt or links, that don’t bring value for Google (anchor to comments , “Read the rest of this entry” and feeds.)
  3. Tweaking meta information for every single page: title, description and keywords.
  4. Changing heading structure. Post title should be under h1 instead of h2 that is the default thing in the most of all WP themes I saw.

Posted in wordpress, November 29th, 2008 | Comment »

There are a lot of things still to be done in my blog so I continue to blog in WorrdPress setup category.

I had quite long break after I started the first post here. There was quite a lot reasons for that: summer, break of my laptop and many other factors.

As I have posted 2 fresh posts recently, the step No 1 I’m going to do is tell Google that I’m back – come, crawl and index it again. For this reason I have create sitemap XML file.
